Thematic commentary is a type of Quranic hermeneutics that interprets the Holy Book in an unsystematic manner. In this type of commentary various verses on one theme – revealed in a special occasion or following an event – are collected through the Holy Quran and interpreted. Pursuing a specific theme through Holy Quran will reveal particular scholarly truths for researchers and expose the believers to special openings from the Unseen. Thematic commentary that is itself a mani¬festation of dynamicity of religious knowledge has encouraged Ayatollah Jawadi to undertake it. It should be noted that his hermeneutic method in these commentaries is also from Quran to Quran though he uses prophetic traditions to complement the discussions.

Abdollah Javadi-Amoli is an Iranian Twelver Shi'a Marja. He is a conservative Iranian politician and one of the prominent Islamic scholars of the Hawza in Qom. The official website for his scientific foundation, Isra, describes him as a well-known, outstanding thinker in various fields of Islamic sciences and a distinguished figure in exegesis, jurisprudence, philosophy and mysticism. It is further states that his ideas and views have been reinforcing the Islamic Republic of Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and that "his strategic and enlightening guidance" has been "extremely constructive" during the past three decades.
