Book About:
The fourth Wish written by Akbar Sahraee, is a teenage novel about Shamshad who is a young boy in the war. The narration of the events is based on the flashback to the past. The novel begins with the nightly deceptive offensive against the Ba'athist enemy that ends to the siege of Shemshad forces. During the siege Shemshad founds one of his schoolmates and also captures one of the Iraqis officers. Such coincidence of the events little by little reveals the background of the characters and the reader find himself within the core of the war and life. Benefiting from the folkloric elements and legends help the writer to create a familiar atmosphere for the reader besides the comic mood of the narration. Watching the war and combatants from both sides is another advantage of The Fourth Wish.
