Book About:

The history of the fight for the Islamic Revolution of Iran is full of memories of bitter and sweet incidents; the formation, changes and rise and fall of groups; motivation for the fight, escapes, arrests, and tortures; resistance under barbaric torture, and so on. One of the most prominent of these cases is the memoirs of Ezzatollah Motahari that are published in a book called Ezzat Shahi Memoirs. The book is a collection of memoirs by Ezzat Shahi who, during a brutal confrontation with the Shah’s regime, “almost” survived the savage treatment by SAVAK and the psychological torture during his interrogation and imprisonment and lived to see the Islamic Revolution’s victory. Ezzat Shahi Memoirs is the history of two decades of fighting with the Shah’s regime and the story of violent political factions and armed militant groups and also the story of people who, with all kinds of creeds and beliefs, once upon a time rebelled to achieve eternal human aspirations, such as justice, equality and a society free from discrimination. In his memoirs, he has challenged and criticized many of the dissident and subversive groups in the 60s and 70s and has criticized and investigated those activities. The book editor, for documentation of the book, has researched a variety of sources and references such as electronic and verbal sources, and investigated about 3,000 documents, newsfeeds, reports of incidents relating to the anti-shah groups and fighters before and after the revolution, the life of the leading figures before and after the revolution, and has discussed with them with Ezzat Shahi. The distinctive characteristics of these memoirs compared to other monographic memoirs are in their oral history. Because in order to extend and confirm the verbal speech, he has referenced the verbal speech and statements of the personalities indicated in his stories. The author has tracked these people in far and nearby places with difficulty and has interviewed them on research topics to uncover the historical truth far from personal bias. In the process of creating the book, he has tried to present as many documents as possible about the personality and actors of the Ezzat Shahi Memoirs and the events during his campaign and to reconstruct the historical truth so that nothing remains untold. He refers to his biography and, if possible, his appearance, to allow the reader to judge with more data and information. The beauty of the book, in addition to the suspenseful events of the memoir, lies in the applied documents and photographs inserted at the end of the book and a detailed description for each photo has been provided based on the text of the memoirs and footnotes. The book Ezzat Shahi Memoirs is highly accurate and comprehensive and has been written with a history storytelling method. The author has provided accurate footnotes that are a big advantage for the book. The book was welcomed very well and by July 2014, it hit its 21st edition mark. Expert of the book: Hosseini removed the hat from my head. He took a look, and I looked back: He was the Dracula! For some people who were unprepared, seeing Hosseini’s face was a torture per se; his complexion, teeth, and eyes were terrible. A barbarian! I was surprised to see Hosseini and realized that the chips were down. “Oh yeah, Mr. Ezzat! Our close friend, how are you?!” said Hosseini. “Not bad,” I replied. He grabbed my hand and took me into his room very politely and laid me on the bed. He tied my legs to the sides and tied my hands above my head. Then he said, “Don’t you say anything; don’t make a sound, just move your thumb whenever you want to talk.” Then he began to whip cold-bloodedly, which shook me to the core. Every blow was like a shock and choked the breath . . .
