Amirhooshang Ebtehaj (Sayeh), the well-known poet and lyrist, is a knowledgeable musicologist and one of the most influential Iranian Radio music mangers. Besides the companionship of the best contemporary musicians, music archiving and private recording, he has also a very good command of knowledge in composition, singing and musicology. In the present book, which is the first volume of a 5-volume research package titled as “Sayeh and Music”, the impacts of Iranian music on his poetry is studied. It includes two main sections. The first one shows the frequency of musical words and terms including some examples of their usage in Sayeh’s poetry and can be also regarded as a anthology of his poems. The second section investigates the musical equivoques wherein, above and beyond gaining knowledge about music art, the readers would discover other layers of subtleties in the selection of words and the usage of equivocal devices in his poetry.
