The book is a study reference for law students.
It starts by examining the philosophy of legitimiza
tion and lawmaking in Islam before bringing forth a
historical approach regarding legal discussions in
Islamic teachings.
Another section of the book criticizes and as
sesses the theoretical principles of the International
Declaration of Human Rights, comparing them to
Islamic human rights. On the same note, it has re
ferred to such issues as religion, human dignity,
freedom of faith and thought, the right to live, natu
ral rights, right to security, right to education, right
to marriage, women and children’s rights, right to
work and ownership, right to political participation
as well as humans’ other cultural, social, religious,
and economic rights, comparing them as appeared
in the Islamic legal system and the International
Declaration of Human Rights.
