Book About:
In Persian-Islamic architecture, there are important principles for housing design. One of the most important of them is flexibility. Flexibility in the design of contemporary housing can be considered due to changes in the dimensions of life and livelihood as a solution to prevent the breakdown of interactions among society, people and biological environment because architects should design a home to fit the human’s changing needs. Flexibility refers to the idea of compliance over time. Hence, flexible housing is a housing that can be complied with users’ needs and lead to an understanding of the user's expectations with their participation. In the present study, descriptive-analytic research has been used. We studied the issue of flexibility and logical graphing, which is the basis for classifying flexibility at its various levels in housing and due to the varying users’ needs and demands of these spaces, we achieved a series of flexible design to offer a pattern, plan, and in line with the user's needs. The results show that in recent years, existing construction has been removed from the flexible criteria and economic issues have arisen on the construction of housings. In order to get out of this situation, it is necessary to refer to the characteristics of Persian-Islamic architecture, because the Persian-Islamic architecture and flexible architecture are overlapping. Using the results of this research can increase the level of ‘accountability’ of the housing.
