This book is the result of the efforts of two Iranian pharmacology professors who applied the science of pharmacology to the treatment of diabetes mellitus. This book is compiled in accordance with the latest findings, and in line with the Guidelines of the Diabetes Specialist Associations, especially the Diabetes Association of America, and the most important purpose of book is to provide new information to endocrinologists, diabetes researchers, general practitioners, and students. So far, there has not existed a rich collection of pharmacotherapy in line with current knowledge in Persian medical books. This book has tried to provide its audiences with a collection of relevant information on the treatment of diabetes mellitus. The first chapter of the book introduces diabetes mellitus and its principles. In the second to fifth chapters of the book, type 1 diabetes pharmacotherapy, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and special considerations are discussed. Most of the material presented in the different chapters have been carefully reviewed using 174 valid pharmacological scientific references.
