Book About:

This book presents a bibliographical survey of all existing textbooks, published in Iran, which have been written to serve the purpose of teaching Persian to non-natives interested in learning Persian as a foreign language. This survey provides a description of the general format of each book, the intended users and readers of each book, as well as the content of each book. The study reported here reveals that it is now exactly 80 years since the first textbook for the aforementioned objective was published in Iran. The authors of the present volume are of the opinion that such a survey will provide crucial information for those who are interested to engage in the greatly-needed task of developing new materials for the increasing number of individuals who are eager to learn Persian as a foreign language. This publication, as the second edition, has been updated, and it also contains information on similar texts which are in the process of production or publication in Iran.
