“Aunt Cockroach and Mr. Mouse” is one of the most well-known and popular children folkloric legends of Iran that has been transferred from old times generation to generation and chest to chest. This legend has been also published in different narrative forms and illustrations. This legend is the story of a beautiful cockroach that set out an adventurous and dangerous travel to marry to the wealthy businessman named “Mash Ramezun” but at the end, he met Mr. Mouse and her destiny would change completely. The legend of “Aunt Cockroach and Mr. Mouse” is full fantasy. Its main characters are Aunt Cockroach and Mr. Mouse and it is the story of Aunt Cockroach events with her different suitors in her way to Hamedan and place of Mash Ramezun. The intended violent behaviors of the suitors to Aunt Cockroach are indicative of tendencies to violence in the family while Aunt Cockroach herself is looking for a rich businessman to achieve tranquility and comfort. Her dependence and interest to the kind and polite Mr. Mouse at the end of the story indicate her interests to harmony, love, and security in married life.
