“The History of Political Developments in Iran” encompasses the history of political developments in Iran during fifteen centuries of Islamic period. Although this book also reviews pre-Islam Iran, its main focus is on Iran’s Shia Islam during last five centuries. After explaining the different approaches to historical and theoretical issues, the authors consider political history of Iran during last 9 centuries. Reviewing this era, the main phase i.e. “The Emergence of Safavid Shia” is discussed as the most important event in Iranian history. The book includes outlines of the important points in the history of Safavid dynasty, explanations of upward and downward movements of them, and analyzing the causes of their decline. Additionally, Historical analysis of rise and fall of the Qajar, Constitutional, Pahlavi and its dimensions till Islamic Revolution is provided. In the end, the two issues of “Freemasonry Activity in Iran” and “The Study of Ten Events and Historic Waves in the Last Five Centuries” includes additional topics in this book.

Najafi was born in 1962 in the central city of Isfahan. He got his BA and MA in political science from the University of Tehran and his PhD from the Research Institute of Humanities and Cultural Studies. The main positions he has been holding are as follows: -Faculty member at the Department of Law and Political Science of the University of Tehran -Director of Group of Political Thought at the Theology and Philosophy Department of the Science and Technology Branch of the Islamic Azad University -Head of the Research Institute of Islamic Culture, Revolution and Civilization -Head of Islamic Revolution Theorization Group -Director of Political Science Doctorate Group at Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute He first developed the theory of “creation of national identity of Iranians”. He has written or edited more than 35 books and 50 essays.
