“Atlas of Iran-Iraq War” is an illustrated documentary reference book including the statistics, explanations, pictures and maps relating Iran-Iraq war and 2 years pre-war incidents. The introduction of the Atlas provides a brief discussion about Islamic Revolution and its international reflections besides Iraq. Furthermore, the reader could get a synopsis of what has happened during the war from its beginning to the cease fire and 598 Resolution. Then, the statistical information about the war in detail, consisting of operations, geographic situations, the outcome of battles, etc. is explained for the reader in 7 chronologically arranged chapters. The English version of 598 Resolution is enclosed at the end of the book.
“Atlas of Iran-Iraq War” has won the first prize of 6th Holy Defense National Book of the Year Award. The book is published by Holy Defense Research and Document Center in 2012 (3rd edition).

Holy Defense Research and Document Center is an official Iranian institute established from the first years of the Iran-Iraq war in order to record and provide information of the war with a documentary base for later research and training use. The center has contributed to the academic understandings of the war, in addition to organizing a scientific board of associate professors in the field.
