The tenth rabbit is a collection of 8 stories that emerges out of
the imaginations of “Termeh”, the girl who sleeps very late at
nights. In the first story, Termeh is trying to sleep by counting
the sheep, but since she does not fall asleep, she decides to
count the rabbits instead! When she counts to the tenth rabbit,
the tenth rabbit suddenly falls over her bed and this way, the
story of the friendship between Termeh and the tenth rabbit
starts. Since that night, Termeh and the tenth rabbit have
several adventures with each other to find “sleep”. This story
collection has a fast pace. Playing with words in language
and concept aspects, is another significant characteristic of
this story book, which has been done skillfully according to
children’s language ability and understanding.
Author About:
Zohreh Parirokh, writer and scholar, was born in Mashad in September 1959 . She completed her studies in management and got a job at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon). During her career in the Institute for the Intellectual Devel - opment of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon), she was the editor-in-chief of specialized magazines for children under five and older children and also in charge of Morghak Project (books for children under five). She has also worked as an il - lustrator. Parirokh works specifically on the literature aimed at children under five. She tries to introduce a new atmosphere and out - look into the literature of this age group and at the same time maintain the readers’ bond with the colloquial language and literature of Iran. Some of her works have been translated to other languages.
