Book About:
The book includes 80 minimal stories each one less than one page about the Iran-Iraq war and its consequences. The first part of the book focuses on the events during the war and the second part relates 40 minimal stories happened after the war. The title of the book is coped from the draft note of the son of a chemical injured veteran. The stories are somehow related to each other whether in character of the subject and idea.
The collection has a kind of comprehensive look at the Iran holy defense and its implications for people's lives. Mustard is a donkey reflects a human and critical look at the aftermath of the war and deals with individuals and families directly involved in the incident. The writer believes that his work could not be considered as a documentary book of Holy Defense; however, Mahdi Noormohammadzadeh, emphases that Mustard is a Donkey is implicitly reflection of the real incidents and experiences of the people in the war flavored with the imagination and features of story writing.
