"Khorramshahr in the Long War" examines the resistance of Khorramshahr people in the first 35 days of Iran-Iraq imposed war. Contents of the book show how the defenders of the city were founded, formed and built to play the historical and significant role to resist against the enemy. The book is based on authentic documents including interviews with eye witnesses, commanders and soldiers who were present in the battlefield as well as professional Iran-Iraq war scholars. A set of reports, circulars, telegrams, etc., written or published by various military organizations, law enforcement agencies, revolutionary institutions and documentary centers, are listed at the end of each chapter. Khorramshahr in the long war studies the case in two parts; the first part including 4 chapters is dedicated to show the covetous mentality of the enemy to occupy the city; the reader could find the background provocations of the war and the exploitation of ethnic and Arabic approaches in the region. The second part includes 6 chapters about the all-around invasion of Saddam forces. Military preparations, plots and operating invasion and the bloody occupation of the city are discussed in this part of the book. The appendix of the book describes the role of women in creation of Khorramshahr epic defense. Author About:

Mohammad Doroudian. 1959- Doroudian is the Narrator, writer, researcher, and theoretician in the history of Iran-Iraq imposed war, who has won the 11th I.R.IRAN National Award for the Book of the Year (2012) and the 8th I.R.IRAN National Award for the Book of the Year in Holy Defense Field. Prior to the Islamic Revolution, he and his brothers, in accompany with friends like Mohsen Rashid, were involved in political activity against Pahlavi regime, which led to their arrest. After the Revolution. With the start of Iraqi invasion against Iranian territories, he went to the front along with his brothers. During the war, Doroudian and his friends like Hadi Nakhaee, Mohsen Rashid and … started to establish an organization for gathering documents, interviews, memories and military findings of the war in order to preserve the academic study of the event. Now the center serves as one of the major source of research with millions of documents and historical, military, social indexes. Mr. Doroudian is graduated from Shahid Beheshti University in history and has written many books in the field of war. Hadi Nakhaee, 1949-2017 Dr. Nakhaee was the pioneer in documentation of the Iran-Iraq war studies and related historical researches. Planning the great national project of Iran-Iraq war chronicle and preserving the documentary aspects of war besides authentic records of the event reflect the academic spirit of Dr. Nakhaee and his role in the history of the war. He is the founder of the word “Ravi” associated to those who have been instructed to record war details in front-lines along with the commanders and soldiers. He was the high ranked researcher in Holy Defense and the associate professor in Amirkabir University in Tehran.
