Book About:

Published along with Ebtehaj’s other book, Bleak Travails, the present book is a collection of poems in the new form. Ebtehaj published The First Songs in 1946, which is a collection of old-fashioned poems. Back then, he had not met Nima Yooshij yet. Mirage (1951) was his first experience in the new method of poem writing. However, the format was the same old quartet with themes of lyricism, expression of feelings and individual emotions – natural and real emotions. Bleak Travails, though published before Mirage, spans poets poems between 1946 and 1950. In his upcoming collections, he left romantic sonnets and accompanied the people. The Nocturnal collection is an answer to that new thought. His collection Pages from the Longest Night opened a new way in the contemporary poetry of Iran.
