Chivalry and mysticism are both among the valuable notions cherished in Islam. These have always been kept away so as not to complement each other. Since the knowledge which is not accompanied with chivalry cannot take us somewhere as the latter without knowledge and intellectual and spiritual enlightenment leads nowhere. This work is an effort to demonstrate the complementary nature of these two realities through studying two key figures in the history of Islam, i.e. Hazrati Abbas and Imam Khomeini. It also delves into the life stories of Immaculate Imams to discern the interactions of mysticism and chivalry as brilliantly exposed in Ashura.
