Book About:

About the Book: Saji is the title of a work that deals with the memoirs of Nasrin Bagherzadeh, the wife of the martyred commander Bahman Bagheri. The book starts from Ms. Bagherzadeh’s childhood in Khorramshahr and continues until the outbreak of the war in that city. Martyr Bagheri’s wife spends the first few days of the war in Khorramshahr but inevitably leaves Khorramshahr and goes to Shiraz like other women around her. But the men stay in Khorramshahr and defend the city. The defense continues until the end of the war. The women go to Khorramshahr, Bushehr or other cities, but the narrator of these memories - due to staying in Khorramshahr with her husband - goes to various cities such as Qom, Mahshahr, and Abadan and lives there for some time. She goes through difficult days and conditions and returns to Khuzestan in the final years until commander Bagheri is martyred on April 18, 1988. Bagherzadeh tries to keep the household calm, but just think how a sudden woman gets stuck in a war, a situation that women become soldiers overnight. Her husband is in the heart of the war, but this woman keeps her family away, even though Ms. Bagherzadeh wanted to be with her husband and bring up her children to grow in Khorramshahr. She tries to return to Khorramshahr, but after the fall of Khorramshahr, they mourn amazingly. On the other hand, when Khorramshahr is liberated, they are shockingly glad because they have taken back the bloody city (Khorramshahr). They decide to reconstruct Khorramshahr and start a new life, but the war does not understand these kinds of loves. The book Saji describes the Imposed War with a humanitarian perspective. It is the story of a woman who never thought the war would knock her door one day. She is going to defend her family without weapons and many of her relatives are martyred. At the end of the book, when she loses everything, she still hopes to rebuild Khorramshahr. Book Expert: Mr. Khosrovani did not answer. He was just crying. I had become mad. I was mourning over the phone. I said, “Mr. Haji, why did not you look after him? Now, what can I say to Sajjad? Shahar will have a stroke. What should I do with Ali? Sajjad cannot sleep all night, he drove us to the wall by insisting on seeing daddy Bahman.” Mr. Khosravani was sobbing. Both of us were silent for a few minutes. I was also crying by hearing Mr. Khosravani’s weeping. His sad weeping touched my heart. I hung up the phone and dialed Rahmat’s number. He was seemingly sleeping right beside the phone because he picked up the handset on the first ring. His voice was choked; he must have cried a lot. He said with an anxious voice, “Yes? Rahmat speaking.” I said, “Mr. Rahmat, it was so kind of you! Why did you leave me and come?” He burst into tears by hearing my voice and held the handset away. I heard his voice from a distance saying, “O’ Saint Abbas! O’ Saint Abolfazl! Sir, such a disaster. Come, it is Nasrin.” The uncle grabbed the phone but could not speak. I was crying out loud. I hung up the phone and sat in the middle of the room. I clawed on my face and tore my hair out. But I couldn’t cry. Halimeh noticed all that and came upstairs. As she entered the room, I smashed the clock - which was still at hand - against the wall and its glass shattered. I did not know what I was doing. My jaws were locked. I could neither not talk nor cry. My mother stepped forward and said, “Nasrin, cry baby! Scream!” I picked up the clock again and smashed it hard to the floor. “Okay . . . whatever you say,” my mother said, “Whatever you say, have your own way. I do not bother you.”
