History of a farmhouse boy from Appenzell; a picture book / by Albert Manser

Albert Manser grew up on a farm in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden and began early to draw. After a three-year confectioner's apprenticeship in St. Gallen , he applied his skills in the production and decoration of artful sweets in various renowned pastry shops. In his spare time he began to paint pictures of peasant life in his native Appenzell.
