The Water Never Dies is the narration of the experience and life of veteran commander Mirza Mohammad Solgi during the 8 years Iran-Iraq war. Hamid Hessam, the writer of the book, compounds the memories of the main character with the experiences of other commanders and soldiers in order to create a fact shit of war memoir, so that the reader could get the best of reality. The writer focuses on this mood of reality through creation of a frank, simple and honest literary genre. The Water Never Dies, first published in 2018 by Sarir publication, is reprinted more than 30 times since then and has won the first prize of Jalal Ale Ahmad Literary Award as the best documentary work. Mirza Mohammad Solgi has been the commander of 152th Hazrat Abulfazl battalion in Ansar al Hossein 32th Division during the Holy Defense years. He was present in front lines when he was 22 years old and has been injured 5 times and at last lost his 2 legs.

Hamid Hessam, 1962- He is graduated from Tehran University with M.A. degree in Persian literature. His experience in front lines during 8years Iran-Iraq war led him to create some of the most brilliant documentary works in the field. In fact, he makes use of the memories of the main narrator in combination with other narrator’s experiences to create a documentary literature that is near to the reality in a that the reader finds himself within the battlefield. Hessam has the honor of being appreciated by the Supreme Leader note on the book “when the Moonlight was Lost”. He has also won the first prize of Jalal Ale Ahmad Literary Award for “Water Never Dies”.
